The little boy who we watched along with our own children board the bus each new school year, who loved to sled down the hill in our backyard. Quiet but aware of everything. We missed our friends when they moved but always held a special place for the entire family in our hearts. To see Josh grown up was a thrill, what a remarkable young man he grew to be. We would converse a little bit when I saw him in GNC and in Gold’s Gym. Then one day I looked out my front window and realized he was once again my neighbor and I was happy to see him. Now when I look outside in hopes of seeing him it is a sad feeling, but I am grateful to have had my neighbor back, even if it was for just a little while. God needed you for some special reason because he would never hurt your wonderful parents and family. Watch over my neighbor God and comfort his family. Hope we can be neighbors again someday.

My first real friend when I moved to the States. You showed me the ropes and introduced me to baseball. You were always my buddy, through thick and thin, and I preserve every moment you and I hung out together. Will never forget how you were the only one to ask me to stay in America when I moved back. You will be missed my friend. But I know you’ll be looking over us.

To my second family,
I love you all more than you know. You have taught me what strength and courage are, but most of all you have showed me what it is to love. Thank you for all the memories you have allowed for me to share with Josh on our many vacations, family dinners, and all the times I probably just invited myself over. He will always hold a place in my heart, and I know that his memory will live on in all of you, who each have their own unique part of Josh in them. May he Rest In Peace and watch over you all with his beautiful smile never leaving his face.

Broadhurst Family, I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful son Josh. Though I did not know him personally, the tribute written for him here shows his beautiful spirit, and how loved and treasured he was by his friends & family. I pray so hard every day for those that are battling active addiction, or are in recovery. It's such a devastating road to travel for all involved. I will pray for Josh, and pray that your family is able to find some peace as you move forward in your grief. God bless you all!

R.I.P Josh. I know we weren’t really that close but you and my brother were. I consider friend of my brothers is a friend of mine. I remember when u and my brother always got together and skated on our driveway. You were always sweet and kind to me when you didn’t have to be and for that you’ll always have a place in my heart. You’ll never be forgotten ❤️

Rest In Peace Josh. I’ll never forget all of the crazy, hilarious, and amazing times we’ve spent together. You had a heart of gold. We never once had an argument in all of the years we were friends (yes even middle and high school), and that says something about how you decided to live your life. You were one of the first friends I made when I moved to LV and you always gave me a shoulder to cry on when I needed it. You taught me how to ride the quad at Ashkaan’s house, which seemed like an impossible task, and definitely beat me in any eating contest we ever had (even IHOP and White Castle). Whether it was sitting at lunch outside away from everyone or in the corner by the door, messing around in dells class that we hated, taking embarrassing pictures of each other, we created some really great memories. The world will miss you dearly. You were taken too soon, but I know you will be watching over all of us left behind, especially your beautiful family.

My heart aches seeing the cousin I looked up to from afar leaving this earth to be with God in heaven. Since a young age I had seen Josh as a beautiful, positive soul and man. His love of sports I always admired and I’ll never forget the fun I had playing soccer with him and my brothers in our neighborhood park in Florida one Thanksgiving. Joshua’s strength and humble demeanor is something I strive to follow for the growing years of life I am now embarking on as a man myself. I love you Josh, my fellow Saipan-Born, Role model, Cousin, Friend, and Inspiration.

Joshua was a great influence to me. He showed me that you can still push through things even through bad times. Joshua will always have a special place in my heart and I’ll never forget the day he came over to visit. It’s too bad that he had too go, he was too young. He’ll always be in my mind for years to come. I wish I could’ve spent more time with him. His death taught me a valuable lesson. It taught me that You should always treat everyday like your last and to also surround yourselves with the people you love. I’m gonna miss you Josh. Rest In Peace.

Although I never knew Joshua personally, his cousin Dillon D’Andrea speaks highly of him. Dillon would tell me how far his cousin has come in his journey. Upon later reflection, Dillon told me how he looked up to Joshua and how he was a special man. Athletic, kind, and more... Rest easy Joshua. You are in mine and Dillon’s heart always.

I ran into Josh every time I was at Gold’s Gym. He was always so friendly and had such a positive vibe about him there, definitely the most dedicated and hard working guy I’ve seen there. I’m going to miss seeing him and working out near him, sending my condolences to his family and him and you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Josh was a loving and kind soul. I am lucky enough to to be very close to Joshes sister, Sarah and therefore have had the opportunity of hearing about Josh. A week before Josh passed, I went out to dinner with Sarah, Lizzy, Josh and Gina.
At dinner, it was apparently to me that Josh had a kind soul that poured out for others and a love for his family. Josh spoke about his job and his girlfriend and about Sarah going back to school. We laughed together that last day.
Upon leaving we all gave hugs and said “see you soon” and that we will.
