Obituary of James P McLean

James P. McLean "Jim", 70, of Hackettstown, New Jersey passed away suddenly on June 14, 2022 at Hackettstown Medical Center. Jim was born on August 4, 1951 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late James and Jean McLean. Jim grew up in Roselle Park, NJ and was a graduate of Union Catholic High School Class of 1968.He was drafted and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a SGT. E5. Upon returning from the service he furthered his education earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Pace University in New York. Jim was employed as a salesman for Suburban Propane. He retired in 2008 as a Regional Manager. Jim was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors, gardening and traveling with his wife. Jim was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years Anne (nee; Fox) McLean, his adored daughter, Kristin Haschak and her husband Joe and his cherished grandchildren Chris and Abby Haschak. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, Theresa McLean, Jeannie Sullivan and her husband Chris and Michael McLean and beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Kevin McLean. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 2-4 PM at the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 Memorial service celebrating Jim's life will immediately follow the visitation at 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
